Pain Resulting From A Car Accident
Quite a few years ago my sister was driving on the freeway in her small four-dour sedan. She was making the commute from the small town where she lived to the city where she worked thirty miles away. Along the stretch of highway leading to the city was an area where the freeway stretched around the foothills at the point of a mountain. On the east side of the freeway were towering mountains and to the west was a steep drop off over a hill. As she drove her small sedan to work she found herself behind a large truck that was carrying a load of rolled carpets. As the truck hit a bump in the road, one of those precariously perched carpets was jarred loose from the back of the truck and fell onto the freeway right into the path of my sister’s oncoming vehicle. Without thinking, she swerved to avoid the large rolled carpet. She lost control of the vehicle and it careened off the drop off to the east, rolling violently down the steep hill. Miraculously, and in part because she was wearing her seat belt, she was taken to the hospital with only minor injuries: neck pain and a broken clavicle. Although the accident happened many years ago my sister’s neck still has problems on a consistent basis.
