Finding a Good EMR (Electronic Medical Recordkeeping) for Your Doctor Office or Clinic

Posted on May 24th, 2010 in Health Care Facilities and Services by NewsCrawler

There are so many different ways of maintaining medical records today that it can be difficult to decide what method is going to be best in the long term. Most doctor offices and clinics rotate EMR (Electronic Medical Recordkeeping) systems about once every three to five years. Generally, medical professionals will abandon one out of every five EMR systems that they use within just a few years.

Recently, in the last 10 years, there has been an increase in switching EMR systems due to technological changes, such as email, phone texting, and iPhones and other smart phone technologies. Old EMR systems that were designed for phone call messages, hard copy filing systems, and faxes no longer worked. Patient filing systems also needed to take into account a larger variety of note taking systems (including handwritten, dictated, email, PDA, sketches or drawings, text messages, and faxes).

However, changing EMR (Electronic Medical Recordkeeping) systems really often leads to lapses in productivity and can even result in some medical records getting lost or not transferring over to the new system. It is important, therefore, that when you switch over to a new EMR system you research it carefully and make sure it will last and be a good investment in the long term.

A good EMR system should last about 20 years, or more if it is a stable company that keeps up with technology. Today, you can find many available patient filing systems for doctor offices, health care clinics, medical billing record keeping, and insurance companies. Keep in mind that you want to go with a system that will be around for a long time. You don’t want to have to keep changing EMR systems every time a new technology is developed, and you shouldn’t have to if you go with a company that is cutting edge and adapts their product to the technologies and medical laws.

Characteristics Of A Quality Guitar

Posted on May 24th, 2010 in Uncategorized by NewsCrawler

The guitar is the most popular instrument in the world and for good reason.  It makes sense because a guitar is easy to learn, portable, and relatively inexpensive when compared to other instruments like a piano or a cello.  A guitar is an instrument that can provide accompaniment for a voice or act as a solo instrument.  With relatively little instruction, someone can pick up a guitar and learn a few of their favorite songs.  A guitar can be taken just about anywhere.  Its size and weight make it ideal for a traveling instrument.  It’s no mistake that it has become the world’s favorite instrument.

But all guitars aren’t created equal.  Wood and craftsmanship are two important elements in a really fine guitar.  Most cheap guitars are made out of laminate material.  This means that the top, side, and back panels of the guitar are made from a composite wood with a veneer glued on top to give the appearance of a natural grain.  However, a really fine guitar is made from solid pieces of wood both on the top, sides, and back panels.  Solid wood creates better resonation and better sound projection.  The type of wood used is important as well.  Some of the most common include spruce, mahogany, rosewood, and maple.  But some of the finest guitars are made from exotic hardwoods like Brazilian rosewood, Hawaiian koa, African bubinga, rare maple woods, and walnut.  If you’re in the market for a quality guitar, make sure it’s made from solid wood.

Preparing For Your First Tour

Most bands that are just getting started look forward to the day when they can hit the road and start touring.  When that time arrives, it takes careful planning to make sure the tour is successful both musically and financially.  Obviously the first place to start is booking gigs.  A good way to do that is to find local bands in the city where you want to tour, talk to them and ask them where to find the best venues.  Booking the gigs is the easy part.  The difficult part is finding transportation and getting out on the road.  Although every musician would love to have an entourage of tour buses and semi-trucks like major label artists, most indie artists just need a bus that can seat all the band members and pull a trailer of equipment.  Plan out your stops carefully and book hotels in the cities you plan on playing.  Bring your CDs and merchandise.  Most of the money you earn will be in merch sales not ticket sales.

Since you’ll be spending so much time in it, you’ll want to make sure that your tour van or bus is reliable and a perfect fit for the band.  If you’re looking for someone specializing in Atlanta bus sales, Taylor Bus can help.  Taylor Bus has a fleet of quality used buses and vans.  You can rent or buy a large capacity vehicle.  With the help of their helpful staff, you’ll be on the road and off to your gig in no time.

College Opportunities for Everyone

We have a son who born 9 weeks prematurely, he has struggled since he was a very small child with learning disabilities, ADHD, social issues, and just overall in almost every aspect of his life.  Life is just difficult for this child.  His life dream is to graduate college and become a Game Designer.  We have wondered over the years if this is just a dream or possibly a reality.  He is our fourth child and as such has watched his older brothers and sister move off to college after high school graduation and pursue degrees in the fields they are passionate about.

Exploring online recently I found a college in Florida that specializes in students with learning disabilities.  Beacon College was started by a group of parents who were concerned about higher education for their own students with learning disabilities.  The school is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of Southern Association of Colleges and Schools and can award Associate of Arts and Bachelor degrees.

We were thrilled to have stumbled onto their site and will continue to research the college.  We hope to visit there soon as our son is a Junior in High School to determine if this might be the perfect fit for him.  It is hard to see a child bright eyed and full of dreams and goals for his life only to hit road blocks everywhere he turns.  I hope this might be the silver lining we have been looking for so he might continue on with his dreams and aspirations and live the life he was meant to live. We all have passions and dreams and nothing is better than to help a child find theirs.

The Joy Of Spontaneous Giving

Posted on May 21st, 2010 in Tips and Tricks by NewsCrawler

On any special occasion flowers send a message that someone who cares is thinking about you and wants to brighten your day. Traditionally arrangements are typically sent to women by the man in their life, but there have been times when my wife has surprised me by having a florist deliver a bouquet to my office to mark the arrival of Valentines Day. In her thoughtfulness she has also had a compliment of blooms distributed to me on our anniversary, reminding me that our dinner reservations will not be held if I do not finish up work early.

Usually given as a romantic gesture, any florist in Toms River will tell you that you do not need to celebrate a certain moment to have an excuse to give a bunch of blossoms to your sweetheart. In fact having a flower arrangement delivered to that special someone is sometimes more rewarding when you do not have anything to be sorry for or are commemorating an event. Just because flowers send the message that I am thinking about you and I care without having an ulterior motive attached to them. Spontaneous giving is a great way to recognize the accomplishments of a loved one and say that I did not need a reason to show you how much you mean to me.

As a truly romantic gesture, no one will excuse the presentation of a beautiful basket of roses or carnations that has been accented with babys breath and other greenery. As each plant and color carries a meaning it may be prudent to discuss the options of your award before sending them, as you will want to say the right thing, which is I love you!

Information About Liposuction

Exercising is a general route that typically everyone usually takes.  However, some people can exercise and still not receive any results.  That is why the medical industry is so wonderful.

If you are the type of person that isn’t experiencing any results from exercising, that isn’t a problem at all.  Liposuction will actually take care of that nasty fat for you.  With liposuction you can target certain areas of your body that you would like fat removed.  I know with exercising you can’t tell the treadmill to target your love handles.

If you want to get liposuction, you do have to fit a certain criteria.  Most candidates do have to be healthy, and have a realistic idea of what to expect with the procedure.  Candidates who want liposuction are of any age.  Usually the older candidates don’t receive the most drastic results because of their skin being more elastic.

Now, liposuction is an uncomfortable experience, the procedure isn’t easy.  The procedure is a major surgery that will take a while to recover from it.  The recovery does depend on each person and what that person has decided to target on his or her body.  Usually patients that have had the procedure done can sleep comfortably through the night.

After the third day of the procedure you should stat feeling normal.  Remember that this is a major surgery and do as much research as you can.

What You Should Know About Upholstery

Posted on May 21st, 2010 in Uncategorized by NewsCrawler

Aren’t you tired of looking at the same couches day after day?  Haven’t you had those couches for at least twenty years?  Well, everyone now and again would like to buy new furniture and get rid of the old.

Once you have realized that it is time to get rid of your old furniture, but don’t have the money to do it.  Take a look at upholstery your won furniture.  Now, I am not going to show you how to upholster your own furniture in this article, but I will give you some handy tips on how to get the right upholstery for you.

When you are first going to go to the store and take a look at fabric, don’t be afraid at looking at other fabrics besides upholstery fabric.  Many people over look the regular drapery fabrics and think that they can only use the drapery fabric for drapes.  Well, I am here to tell you that you can use drapery fabrics as your upholstery fabric.

While you are deciding on what fabric to purchase, make sure you think about matching up the fabric.  If you have a solid fabric that you have chosen, you are of course fine without matching it.  Although, if you have chosen a fabric that has stripes, floral or plaids you want to make sure you have enough fabric to match it all together.

One last thing, don’t forget to purchase the rest of your supplies you need for your upholstery project.

Owning your own home can be a lot of work, but it certainly can be worth it.  However, when you look at all things you have to do to maintain your home it can be a little stressful.  Things like yard work, cleaning, updating appliances, fixing problems, painting, etc.  It all starts to add up and can definitely be a burden for some.

One of the most stressful things is when you have plumbing problems and leaks.  They can be a pretty big headache and could be very expensive if you go with the wrong Atlanta plumbing company or plumber.

Recently I had one of my pipes burst in my home and I had no idea what to do.  After quickly turning off my water I was little bit dumbfounded on who to call or what to do.  You see I had never had a plumbing problem in my life.

I did a little quick research about Atlanta plumbing companies and called a few to do some comparison shopping.  I was so happy with the choice that I ended up making because they really did a great job.  They helped me for a good price and helped me take care of this headache very quickly.

If you ever have a plumbing problem in Atlanta don’t stress and try and fix it all by yourself.  Call an expert and get it taken care of right away.
