Summer is a season of water fights, splashing in the ocean, lying out in the sun, and getting too much sun. Everybody knows the importance of wearing sunscreen to protect the skin, but all too often people fail to protect their eyes. It’s not hard to protect your eyes; all you need to do is find the right pair of sunglasses.

When shopping for your glasses, look for the ones that offer UV protection. Typically if they are labeled “cosmetic” glasses, they won’t be blocking any rays. If a pair has UV protection it will usually have a tag or sticker that says it does. It will also specify the percentage of UV rays that are blocked. Look for glasses that block 95% or higher of these rays. This will give you the best protection.

Since sunglasses are used for fashion as much as they are used for protection, you don’t want to just buy any old pair. You need to find a pair that offers adequate protection, but that you can feel comfortable in. There are many brands available, such as dragon sunglasses or spy optic. Each brand offers a variety of styles and colors to choose from. Truly the style is your choice, but if the glasses don’t offer UV protection, don’t buy them.

By combing the great style of dragon sunglasses or the spy optic brand with protection from the sun, retailers are giving us the best of both worlds. Style and protection: a perfect match.

Creative Uses for Your Cell Phone

The cell phone is a little piece of technology that goes with us wherever we go. It’s like a loyal friend, sticking with us through the thick and thin of life. It’s our extra robotic limb, fully equipped and ready to call, text, take pictures, calculate tips, surf the web, etc. In short, we use them to make our lives better. Here are a couple of things you can use your cell phone for that you may not have considered.

It can be used for protection. No, I’m not talking kung fu protection; I’m talking legal or accident protection. One of the best things you can do if you get in an accident is take pictures of any damage you or your vehicle may have sustained. This way, if you end up in court you will have physical proof of what happened. Most cell phones come equipped with a camera so you can simply pull out your phone and take the pictures you need. It’s simple, and you are protecting yourself.

Second, the phone can be used as an access point for all the internet sites you love. For example, if you spend a lot of your time on YouTube you can now actually download YouTube to your phone. I don’t mean the entire site, but you can get music and videos from YouTube and download them. With your phone your favorite sites can go with you wherever you go.

Basically, you just need a little creativity to come up with a myriad of uses for your cell. Don’t download YouTube to your phone then let the fun stop. Keep thinking; you will come up with tons of interesting, creative ways to use your little robotic limb.

When closing on the purchase of your new jersey real estate, there are a few tips and tricks that the professionals know in order to get the best results for the fastest, easiest and most pain free ways to close on a house and a mortgage. These tips should be able to expedite your time dealing with contracts and paperwork, and get you into your new real estate as soon as possible.

Consider closing closer to the end of the month if possible. The financial institution you are working with probably requires you to prepay the interest on your loan from the day of closing to the end of your first month. Closing at the end of the month will save you some money in the way of the interest prepayment. At the same time, take care that you remember that now is not the time to get a new car loan or default on a credit card bill. Keep your credit status the same throughout the closing, so you don’t jeopardize your loan through bad choices.

Remember that you’ll need to contact certain utility services; both to shut off old services and to reroute your new services to your new home. Those who will need to be notified are the post office, insurance, and other utilities. Do these things before you move, so you don’t have to worry about where your mail is going after the fact.

Struggling Readers

What do you do when you have a child who struggles with reading and just cannot seem to get a handle on it? I know the tendency is to get frustrated with them, to not understand why they cannot get a grip on just reading a simple page as quickly and as well as everyone else. That is not the right answer though. That does not do anyone any good and actually does the reader a lot of harm. There is a better way.

Struggling readers need encouragement, help, and education. With support from loved ones, and continued work, struggling readers can improve their reading skills and become excellent readers. It actually happens quite often. The key is to not get frustrated, not criticize, and not give up. Easier said than done a lot of times though.

I know when I would try to work with my oldest son, who struggled with reading, it got to be a horrible event. He would become so depressed and angry that any time I would help him by suggesting a word, he would get defensive and lash out at me, then I would eventually get sick and tired of his attitude and become angry. Needless to say, reading is still not his strong point nor his favorite thing to do. But we both tried. Struggling readers need a lot of encouragement and patience, a lot more than I was able to give my son.
