Fun With Expedition Vehicles

A couple of years ago, I one of the most fun vacations in my life. Being single has some advantages, and one of them is the freedom to hit the road at a moment’s for an adventure (providing that getting off of work is not a problem).

A couple of friends and I decided to go watch Major League Baseball’s spring training in Arizona for a week or so, before heading down to south Arizona (very, VERY close to the Mexico border to see an old friend and just hang out for a couple of days. The baseball part of the trip was great, we had a great time and got to see so many teams and players, but I think the most fun part of the trip was the time we spent in Ajo, Arizona.

Workers Compensation Attorneys in Tennessee

I never really thought that jobsite accidents were a big deal, and I certainly never thought much about workers compensation. I heard of other people (usually a friend’s cousin or a husbands step son from another marriage) who had worksite accidents and had to deal with the endless red tape of filing for workers compensation.

But then, when I was in college, a co-worker of mine was moving some boxes on Christmas Eve and somehow pulled his arm out of socket – completely dislocated his shoulder. As it was Christmas Eve, there were only a few of us working, and someone had to take him to the emergency room… That would be me.

Diet Pills Can Deceive

Posted on September 16th, 2008 in Things to Buy by NewsCrawler

Have you ever looked at a bottle of diet pills and see the words “all natural” or “herbal supplements”? This is pretty common language on diet pills and other supposed supplements that are supposed to help you with your physical image or health. But these words may tell us more about what’s NOT in the bottle than what is actually in them.

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) does not regulate “herbal supplements” as they are not intended to have any effect on health or well-being. However, despite this many diet pills and the like make claims of being able to help, and even cure health problems despite them not being approved by the FDA at all.

Improving Adolescent Literacy in Homes and Schools

Reading is a skill that opens the door to cognitive, social and economical development. It can also be a continuing source of entertainment. Unfortunately, millions of children across the country struggle with the ability to read. Some of these struggles stem from learning disabilities, but others are simply the result of limited or poor teaching. Whatever the cause, adolescent literacy is lower than it should be though. And, without the proper attention, reading disabilities will continue to hinder a child’s progress through elementary school, middle school, high school and beyond.

Pros and Cons of Dieting Plans

Posted on September 11th, 2008 in Things to Buy by NewsCrawler

Dieting can be very difficult for many “lifelong dieters”. How many people do you know that have tried and failed, tried and failed to find the right diet plan that helps them lose weight and keep it off. I have found a couple of plans that work, but many, many more that haven’t worked. Here are a few personally observations of plans that I have tried, as well as the pros and cons that I have found.

Diet Pills

Diet pills are perhaps the most trendy of all diet plans – though they may also be the most dangerous. Because they often (either directly or indirectly) offer a “miracle cure”, they have gained enormous popularity and almost always offer more than they can deliver. There are also some potentially severe side effects for some diet pills, as well as the risk of dependence.

Diet pills can work by providing appetite suppression, boosting metabolism, and providing energy, but there are also potentially some very serious side effects. Therefore, they should never be used as a substitute for proper diet and exercise. So be careful.

Seattle Dog Boarding

Posted on September 9th, 2008 in Uncategorized by NewsCrawler

There are many reasons a responsible pet owner may need to leave their dog with a Seattle dog boarding facility; illness, vacations, business trips, and having company over to name a few. In my case, I just didn’t want to be the one to deal with my dog immediately following his neutering surgery.

He’s a pretty big dog (German Shepherd mix) and not only do I not love to see him in pain, I didn’t want him to take out his frustrations at having his manly parts removed on me or my guests. I figured a Seattle dog boarding facility would have the resources to deal with a hurt, angry and very humbled hundred pound monster dog better than I would.

Diet Pills for the People

Diet pills, like vitamins, don’t have to go through a lot of testing and to get on the market. Consequently, some manufacturers make and sell very poor products. Unfortunately, when you are dealing with weight-loss pills, poor can also mean dangerous. This means that buying the wrong pill can do more than empty your wallet; it can damage your health.

If you take the time to research every diet pill out there, you’ll never get around to buying one though because there are literally hundreds of products on the market. That is why so many customers turn to reviews that evaluate diet pills based on their safety, effectiveness and popularity.
