Is Jay Leno and Pet Clothing?

Posted on October 31st, 2007 in Interactive by NewsCrawler

Fans of the Tonight Show with Jay Leno know that one of Jay’s biggest pet peeves is people who dress up their pets. While there are almost certainly a good number of people who agree with him, is Jay’s opinion in the minority? Considering the profitability of the pet-clothing business, one has to wonder.

Paris Hilton Dog dressupDogs in New York are particularly lucky (or unlucky depending on your point of view) as there is no shortage of pet stores carrying pet clothing in the highly fashionable Big Apple. The truth of the matter is that Jay Leno, along with his loyal following of fans, has no choice but to put up with the trend of dressing one’s pets. Indeed, Paris Hilton has even appeared on the Tonight Show with her dog, Tinkerbell, all dressed up (the dog that is).

That a dog store in New York can do so well says a lot about not just New Yorkers, who are known for their advanced fashion tastes, but for the country as well. New York is a fashion pathfinder and if you aren’t already seeing dressed up dogs everywhere you go, you soon will be.

Your best strategy may be to simply join the crowd, because you certainly aren’t going to beat them. Personally, I like Canine Styles. They’ve got dog accessories up the wazoo, including dog sweaters, dog coats, dog collars, and other dog apparel, and they’ve been at it for nearly a half century. Need a diamond-studded dog leash? Check out one of Canine Styles’ three New York City locations, or visit them on the Web.

So give in and slap that dog coat on your beloved friend. Show the world that she’s a dog of New York!
